There’s a reason I’ll always choose a bath over a shower, and it’s because a long hot, relaxing soak makes me happy. Showers are for when I’m in a rush and I literally have 10 minutes to cleanse, lather, shave, scrub and wash. It’s just so fast-paced that I never seem to find enjoyment in a shower. Cue Rituals and its a collection of skincare products that help you find happiness in the smallest of things.
Rituals have a fresh approach to wellbeing. The brand focuses on seemingly meaningless moments that we all tend to overlook, and with their range of products, help you experience them with joy. The collection of luxurious yet affordable products are inspired by the wisdom and ancient traditions of Asian cultures. They are completely cruelty free and boast natural, sustainable and organic ingredients.
The two products that have helped me realise that showers can be just as pampering and indulgent are the Rituals Foaming Shower Gel and Body Scrub. Two ingredients that are at the core of these products are rice milk and cherry blossoms. Throughout Asia, rice is a symbol of abundance and happiness and rice milk extract makes your skin soft and supple, and gives it a healthy glow. For the Japanese, cherry blossoms are a symbol of rebirth, and within products this delicate fragrance is wonderfully relaxing.
I’ve never tried a shower foam before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. With the Foaming Shower Gel you simply squeeze a small amount of gel into your hand, massage it into my skin and watch it transform into a rich, creamy, moisturising foam. This totally changed up my shower routine. The product feels so luxurious and not only does it leave my skin feeling fresh and soft, but it smells absolutely incredible. With this product a little does go a long way. It’s supposed to last up to 50 showers, but I’m quite heavy-handed and use a lot!
Now, if you follow my #SkincareSunday series on Instagram then you’ll know I love nothing more than a pamper session where I cleanse, exfoliate, buffer and deeply moisturise my skin. This was why I was super excited to try the Sakura Sugar Body Scrub. Boasting a mix of sugar and softening oils, this scrub has been specially developed to gently exfoliate and nourish even the driest of skin.
After my first use I felt in love with this product. It’s hands down one of the best scrubs I’ve ever used because it doesn’t leave your skin feeling stripped. It lightly exfoliates and buffs the skin, and when it comes to washing it off, leaves an oily residue on the skin, which I personally love, so that your skin feels nourished. I’ve found that using this product results glowing skin that feels soft and smells amazing.
Have you tried anything from this brand before? Do you prefer baths, or showers?
