The not-so-secret ingredient behind Bee Good’s multi award-winning skincare products comes of British honey bees. Can you believe it? The British independent skincare company, Bee Good, harnesses the potent properties from honey bee ingredients and expertly blends them with naturally active botanicals to create a range of gentle, yet effective skincare products.
One of Bee Good’s many products is NectaPerfecta – the UK’s first all over, multi-tasking enzyme treatment mask. Developed to address a challenged, or hormonal complexion, NectaPerfecta is a balm-like mask that promises to brighten and revitalise dull, ageing skin, as well as re-hydrate parched, or stressed skin. Using super-charged British bee ingredients and botanicals this mask is set to deliver targeted results – whatever your age, or skin type – preparing your skin to maximise the effectiveness of your skincare, make-up and tanning products.
On first impressions it wasn’t the luxurious packaging, or the lavish amount of product that caught my eye, it was actually the scent. Before I even applied this to my face the smell of the mask enveloped my senses and made my mouth water. A sweet, comforting scent, which I’m guessing was a result of those honey bees.
Although you can use this mask on your body, scalp and face, I chose the latter as this mask promises to revitalise dull, ageing skin, as well as hydrate, and my avid readers will know I’m all about anything anti-aging. I’ve been using this mask for a number of weeks now and when I do I apply a thick layer of this to my face once a week and leave it on for around 30 minutes while I’m just chilling in the tub. Some weeks I also place a thin layer on my elbows and knees, depending how dry my skin feels.
The fruit enzymes within the NectaPerfecta, including lemon, orange and bilberry, gently exfoliate the skin while the British plant oils, Wheatgerm and Camelina are rich in vitamin E and promote skin’s elasticity and suppleness. This combination of ingredients also helps to reduce moisture loss and nourish the skin. If you have challenged, or hormonal skin then you’ll find the Bisbolol within this product balances, calms and purifies the skin. To protect against dehydration, the natural mimosa and sunflower waxes create a silky smooth film to plump and and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I use warm water to wash this off and – depending how much I’ve applied – it can take a few minutes to remove it completely from my skin. Once off my skin feels instantly nourished. I can definitely feel the film on my skin from the natural mimosa and sunflower waxes. It doesn’t feel sticky, heavy, or greasy, it feels like you’ve already applied your moisturiser. My skin feels soft, supple and super hydrated, and has a natural-looking glow to it.
The feeling of my skin afterwards combined with the gorgeous smell, feels almost like a spa-like experience. I really enjoyed using this product and although you can use this all year round, I feel like this product would be a skin-saver in winter. I also love that Bee Good’s products don’t contain synthetic colours, fragrances, mineral oil, silicone, parabens, SLS, or SLES, phthalates, or genetically engineered ingredients. Plus, they don’t test on animals and are completely bee friendly and suitable for vegetarians. They only use bee products, which can be harvested without harm, meaning they don’t use royal jelly, or bee venom.
