Cold weather and dark nights mean one thing – my hibernation mode is officially switched on. Cosy nights in along with Christmas and cheese boards are what I live for during this time of year. There’s nothing better than coming home, making a HUGE cuppa and getting snuggly in my onesie. I love hibernating, I mean, who doesn’t? So, this year I’ve got my Christmas shopping in super early as I plan to take full advantage of the terrible weather and use this time for me. And this is what I plan on getting up to…
Let’s Netflix & Chill
I don’t watch regular TV, but I do binge watch Netflix. Normal day-to-day I don’t have time for TV, so when I do watch it, I binge watch Netflix. After scrolling through the Netflix Original Series section – which has a pretty epic selection of movies and multiple series btw – I’ve now got a list as long as my arm of things I want to watch. And what better excuse to spend time in bed and slowing tick each series off my list one-by-one when the weather is pants. First on my list is Haunting On Hill House because everyone, and I mean everyone, is talking about it. If you have any other recommendations please let me know.
Finally Back Into It
I’ve being trying for months to get back into the swing of reading. Like months. Some days I would struggle just to finish a page nevermind a chapter. It’s taken me like four/five months (if not longer) to complete Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. So, I went back to basics. I picked up a book that I read when I was in school more than 10 years ago and you know what? In a week I’ve almost completed it. So, I bought the rest of the series (four books in total) and I aim to read the lot while hibernating. I think this will finally get me back into the swing of reading. I hope so, because I have a mountain of new books on my bookcase waiting to be opened!
Did I tell you I finally bought a bathroom? YES. You have no idea how fricking excited I am to finally have a new bathroom. I mean it’s not getting fitted until January, but it’s here, it’s looking beautiful and it’s going to finish a BIG area of the house off. There’s a few things left to do before the bathroom gets fitted. So, while hibernating I’m going to take the time to finish off bits of painting, put up some shelves, buy some light shades… y’know all that adult stuff. It’s exciting to think that after a year in this house it’s finally starting to shape up and look like our home.
Trying Something New
Cooking. Yes, it feels weird just typing the word, but yes while hibernating I’m going to be practicing my cooking skills. About seven weeks ago I start eating a lot cleaner, which meant I actually had to cook rather than shoving something in the oven. I wouldn’t say I’m the cooking type, but I’ve lost 10 pounds since switching up my eating habits so I want to continue it. I’ve actually bought a few cooking and baking books, so I want to dedicate some time to my kitchen and get my Gordon Ramsay on.
Will you be hibernating this winter?
