If you follow me on Instagram and have caught my Instagram Stories, then you’ll have seen that I’ve been trying out the new Sculpt, Sun and Glow Sticks from the award-winning brand, HD Brows. From the moment I heard about these new releases I was excited to try the products. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to my avid readers, as I’m obsessed with anything glow related and I’m always game for perfecting my contour skills. Plus, I’ve heard AMAZING things about the UK’s number one brow treatment from HD Brows, so I was expecting BIG things, and oh boy, did they deliver.
Available in three variations – glow, sculpt and sun – these sticks are designed for easy application offering an effortless formulation for adding shape and definition to the face. The glow, sculpt and sun sticks boast a creamy consistency allowing each stick to glide onto the skin to give a natural and professional finish, which is buildable depending on the kind of look you’re trying to achieve.
The glow sticks come in two gorgeous shades – Champagne and Rose Gold – and I honestly struggled to decide which one to try first as they are both so pretty. Although the consistency is rather creamy, the product itself a lightweight highlighter balm containing stunning pearlescent pigments. When on the skin the product gives a beautiful natural glow, however, if you want a more dramatic strobe look then you simply build up the product until you’re happy with it. You can apply the stick directly onto the skin, but for a seamless application I take a small fluffy make-up brush, dab it into the product and then onto the tops of my cheeks, nose, cupids bow and on my brow bone.
When it comes to contouring my face I usually use a bronzer, so before I tried the sculpt sticks I picked up the sun stick. I find it quite hard to find a bronzer that works for my skin tone because I’m so pale, but lucky for me this sun stick comes in a universal shade that worked perfectly for me. I applied the stick directly to my face (temples, cheekbones and chin) and because of the creamy formula it blended seamlessly into my skin and gave a natural sun-kissed look. I really love the natural look this creates and it’s perfect for everyday use.
Although I loved the natural sun-kissed look, I’m a more is more kind of girl, so couldn’t resist adding more depth with the sculpt sticks. The sculpt sticks come in two shades – warm and cool. The warm is perfect for darker skin, or skin with peachy or yellow undertones, while the cool is ideal for fair skin with pink or red undertones. This is why I chose the latter, as I have super fair skin with pink undertones. Again, I found it super easy to apply onto my skin and although I placed it on top of the sun stick it still blended like a dream and gave a gorgeous finish to my skin. I would definitely use the sculpt sticks when wanting to add depth to my cheekbones and define my features more.
Have you tried these sticks before? Are you a fan of cream, or powder products?
