I was told a long time ago by a skincare expert that your lips and eye area are two places on your face that don’t produce its own hydration. True fact, or not, I’ve never chanced it. This is why I always make sure I apply plenty of hydration to these delicate areas, both morning and night. A lip balm and eye cream are two staples within my skincare routine and lately I’ve been using the Moisturizing Reviving Eye Mask and the Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm from the Clarins Hydra-Essentials range.
When your skin is dehydrated it can become dull, itchy, your under eyes can appear darker and fine lines and wrinkles can occur. While I’ve been introducing more oils, acids and vitamins into my skincare routine to prevent this in my overall complexion, I’ve been using an eye cream and lip balm, everyday for years, to ensure that these delicate areas stay supple and soft for as long as possible. This is why these Clarins products caught my attention because they’ve been specially designed to care for areas, which are prone to dehydration, to restore comfortable, supple and youthful looking skin.
There’s nothing worse than when you have to apply lip balm every half an hour, or even those balms that leave your lips feeling dry and tight. No. I like a lip balm that lasts for hours, which isn’t sticky and is super-comfortable to wear. This is why the Moisture Replenishing lip Balm is always on me, whether it’s in my bag, or my jean pocket.
This balm is a combination of new generation wax and key moisturising ingredients, including blue lotus wax and cocoa extract. It’s these ingredients that effectively comfort and enhance lips, as the blue lotus wax adds a nourishing film while the cocoa extract stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, which improves the overall hydration of the lips. I absolutely love the texture of this lip balm and after applying it only on a morning and evening for weeks, my lips have felt better. They’re super soft, smooth and supple.
Now, on to my favourite product, the Moisturizing Reviving Eye Mask. You can use this mask in two ways: as an express radiant boost in 10 minutes, or leave it on overnight for an intense treatment. Personally, I do the latter every Wednesday and Sunday evening coupled with an overnight face mask. This eye mask contains extracts of organic leaf of life and quinoa, which act together to help restore its moisture reserves.
I apply a small amount – a little goes a long way – to my eye area and although the thick cream looks rich in texture it melts instantly into the skin. In fact, the cream almost has a consistency of a gel. Not only is it really soothing, but it’s super effective. I’ve started to get fine lines around my eyes and since using this, my eyes have never looked brighter, smoother, or more youthful. This is definitely a product that’s made its way into my skincare staples.
Have you tried any of these products before? Do you keep your skin hydrated?
