At the moment I’m fixated on my teeth. I know that a lot of people make sure to go to the dentist as often as they can to keep on top of having healthy teeth and gums. If you are thinking about going to the dentist more regularly. But are unsure where to go, then you can click here to find out more information. I recently found, due to a fault with my retainer, that I’m going to be getting my brace refitted. (If you need a retainer, visit clearretain.com for more information!) This isn’t something I’m particularly happy about, in fact, memories of my 15-year-old self being called “brace face” come flooding back. Basically I had a brace more than 10 years ago – y’know when it wasn’t a cool accessory – and when I went to get a new retainer fitted (I get new ones every year), they told me my teeth had moved, which I was gutted about because I wear my retainer religiously. Anyway, now I’ve been told this I notice my teeth all the time. I might not be able to do anything about the moving situation, but I can make them look better, which is why I’ve been using the Ultimate Carbon Kit from Carbon Coco.
The Ultimate Carbon Kit contains activated charcoal toothpaste and tooth polish, and a toothbrush with bamboo bristles. This kit from Carbon Coco is a natural teeth whitener that promises to whiten and polish teeth while strengthening enamel and detoxifying the mouth.
I know what you’re thinking; “how can pitch black powder make your teeth whiter?” The same thing ran through my mind. It says activated charcoal is the secret ingredient as it’s an oxidized version of charcoal and can be used to effectively whiten teeth. Since charcoal is a natural ingredient it boasts to remove external stains from teeth without the toxic chemicals used in commercial tooth whitening products. These teeth whitening products help to promote good oral health and can change the pH balance in the mouth, helping to reduce things that cause cavities, gum disease and bad breath. I’ve been using this kit on a morning and evening for just over three weeks now and I’ve really enjoyed using it and I’m happy with the results so far.
The process on how to use these is pretty simple. All you do is wet the toothbrush and dip it into the charcoal powder and brush your teeth. Once you’ve finished doing that you then brush your teeth with the charcoal toothpaste, and then you’re done. The charcoal powder doesn’t really taste of anything, the only thing it does do is make your mouth a little dry, but nothing horrible or uncomfortable. The toothpaste, however, has a delicious spearmint flavour and I actually really love this. It’s weird brushing your teeth with something black, but I have found that it’s working for me and made my teeth appear whiter.
One thing I have been doing is once I’ve brushed my teeth with the charcoal polish and the charcoal toothpaste, I have then been going in with my normal toothpaste and brushing my teeth again. It’s not because they don’t feel clean, or anything like that, it’s just because there’s a little bit of black residue on my gums that I want to get off before I head out for the day.
If you’re an avid electric toothbrush user, like me, then you can use your electric toothbrush too. I’ve been mixing between the two and I haven’t notice a difference in using one more than the other, however, I do think a normal toothbrush is easier to clean afterwards. So, if you have any expensive electric toothbrush I would probably stick with the normal one. Just a warning, when using these products your sink will look a little messy, but nothing a little water won’t wash away.
The one thing I’ve loved about these products, other than my teeth looking whiter, is how easy it is to incorporate into my morning and evening routine. With some teeth whitening products you need to make time, which can be hard if you lead a busy lifestyle like myself. Whereas these products just take a few extra minutes in the bathroom brushing your teeth, which is super achievable. I’ve really enjoyed using these and since I have so much product left, I’m going to continue to use them.
Have you used anything from Carbon Coco before? What do you think about using charcoal to whiten your teeth?
