In the weeks leading up to the launch of Glossier in the UK, my Instagram and Twitter feeds were filled with the products. So, naturally the beauty lover in me couldn’t resist venturing over to the site to see what all the hype was about when the launch day finally arrived.
When I went on the website – with my bank card ready to go – I have to be honest, I was a little underwhelmed. There was such a hype surrounding Glossier that my expectations were high, and although I’m not quite sure what I was expecting, I was a little disappointed to see such a small selection of products. A little disappointed, but not defeated I ordered the Super Bounce Serum and the Moisturising Moon Mask.
I went for two skincare products because Glossier is all about skin first, and make-up second. I’ve been using the products just over a month now and I’ve been really impressed with the difference they’ve made to my skin.
There are three serums to choose from – Super Glow, Super Pure and Super Bounce – I went for the Super Bounce because it has Hyaluronic Acid in it and I know that Hyaluronic Acid has anti-aging benefits. In addition to Hyaluronic Acid, this product has Vitamin B5 and is set to bring back elasticity for supple and soft skin.
I’ve been applying this serum every morning and night. I only use a small amount because a little goes a long way and the product itself feels silky to touch and soaks straight into my skin leaving no sticky residue. I have noticed my skin feels mucher softer and feels plump and bouncy to touch. I’m actually pleasantly surprised by this product. It does look a little small online, but I’m happy with the size and in just over a month I’ve used just under half of it.
I heard so many good things about the face masks that I had to pick one up. I’m all about hydrating my skin, which is why I chose the Moon Mask which is set to brighten and hydrate the skin. I have been smoothing a thick layer of this all over my face every Sunday evening when relaxing in the bath. Again, this mask has Hyaluronic Acid in it, which I think has also contributed to how soft and plump my skin feels. Especially round this time of year, my skin always looks a little dull, but I have found thanks to the licorice root and lemon in this mask, it now has a subtle glow to it, which I’m absolutely loving.
My online experience may not have been that exciting, however, I was impressed with the free shipping and how fast my parcel arrived. Plus, Glossier have absolutely nailed its presentation and the customer’s unwrapping experience. Pretty pink packaging, bubble wrap bags, free samples and Glossier stickers – now that’s an exciting parcel!
I’m really glad I ordered these two products and I would happily order them again. I’ve loved the difference they’ve made to my skin and have both become staples in my skincare routine. I’ve also used the free sample of Jelly Cleanser I recieved and I really enjoyed that too – I actually can’t wait to order a full-sized one. I’ve also used the free sample of perfume and again, that smelt incredible!
Although I was expecting a bigger selection of products, from the two I’ve used, I’ve found that Glossier have delivered on what they say on the bottle. This suggests to me that Glossier are dedicated to putting out products that actually work. I’m yet to try the make-up range, but the skincare is a winner to me.
What are your thoughts on Glossier? What have you tried from the collection?
