When it comes to my make-up, for me, it’s all about the eyes. Now, I’m sure you all have a favourite feature on your face, whether it’s naturally chiseled cheeks, the perfect pout, or a cute button nose. For me, my best feature is definitely my eyes, and although they don’t look like much when they’re naked, with a little make-up I can enhance the area allowing them to reach their full potential. No matter if I opt for an everyday, natural look, or go all out in full-glam, I always put the emphasis on my eyes.
When applying my make-up I always start with eyeshadow. This has been my routine for years – first the eyes, then foundation and then the rest of my face. For this look I’m using the They’re Real Duo Shadow Blender in Naughty Neutral. A neutral blush pink and a warm brown, I love these colours for during the day and they work really well together. The great thing about this eyeshadow is you don’t have to be an expert to apply it because it comes with a Shadow Blender that with one sweep does it all for you. When applying this eyeshadow, I did use one of my fluffy brushes, however, I did find the Shadow Blender to be good at blending out a smoky eye from the crease, and dabbing a highlighter under the arch of my brow. Everyone knows I love browns, but this blush pink is bloody beautiful. I love how it catches the light and really opens up my eyes.
I love eyeliner, I think it’s a great way to define your eyes and make them stand out, which is why I always apply it if I have time. I did try the They’re Real Push-Up Liner a few years ago and loved the actual gel, but struggled to use the tip. Now, after a few years, I feel like I’ve learnt a few things to allow me to use it properly! Basically, it’s just like using any other gel liner where you have to use a brush. I find that if I use a little bit of They’re Real Push-Up Liner at a time it applies so much easier. The liner itself is super black, which I love, and doesn’t move or smudge during the day. When I’m finished I always wipe the tip clean, to ensure it’s ready-to-go the next time I use it. If I don’t use it for a while the tip of the product can sometimes get dry, if that happens, I wipe it on the back of my hand – removing the dry bits and warming up the rest of the product – and then it’s good to go.
Now my favourite part – mascara! Seriously mascara is a total game-changer for me, as my lashes are naturally Milky Bar white so you can’t even see them normally. If you’re an avid reader of my blog you’ll know that Benefit’s mascara – They’re Real and Roller Lash – do it for me everytime – the bristles on the wands are just fantastic at separating my lashes and ensuring I coat them from root to tip. Since I only get to see my lashes when I’m wearing mascara I always go all out with black, and the blacker the better. But I do know that a lot of people prefer to use brown, as opposed to black, during the day for a more natural look and the They’re Real Tinted Primer is perfect. Expect all the amazing qualities that the They’re Real! Mascara has, but it’s brown. Personally I love my lashes to look thick and full of volume, so I’ve been applying this before my They’re Real Mascara to ensure my lashes go on for days.
Another feature I like to enhance is my lips – plus no look is complete without a little lippy. Now, I’m actually quite happy with the shape and size of my lips, but I am toying with the idea of lip fillers – your thoughts? Until then I’ll stick to using liner and lipstick, and They’re Real Double The Lip is a great dual product. A lip liner and lipstick combined, this two-in-one product allows you to outline your pout while applying your lippy all at once! I’ve never tried a lip product from Benefit before and I have to say the lipstick really impressed me: a creamy texture, long-lasting and I loved the colour. When applying I did find the liner half to work in outlining my lips and thankfully the teardrop tip is kept within the packaging, as when I use my lipsticks they become flat, rather than pointy, so I know that They’re Real Double The Lip will work during every application.
What’s your favourite feature on your face that you like to enhance? Is there anything you try to cover, or conceal? What Benefit products do you use? What’s your favourite Benefit product?
