My teeth, or smile have never been a feature that I’ve focused on. In fact, if you caught my latest beauty post you’ll know, for me, it’s all about my eyes. However, I know a few people who are self-conscious about their teeth, so much so that it stops them smiling. I know that some people go to dentists such as this Melbourne Dental Implants practice to make them feel better about themselves. I think it’s great that people can do that, however, I think if you do it by yourself then you might as well try that first. Lately, I have started to pay more attention to my teeth. I know someone who had their teeth professionally whitened at Dentist Fort Wayne but it was too far for me to travel. Mainly because a few of my friends have recently had/gotten a brace, but I’ve also found myself smiling more because I’m now more confident in taking photos of myself – as you can probably tell from my Instagram feed. Now, I had a brace back when I was 15 and during that time braces were not trendy, or particularly stylish, but hey-ho I’m lucky enough that my teeth were so bad that my parents didn’t have to pay for it. Anyone who’s had a brace will know that the process does stain your teeth, it’s faint but the stains are there. I did have laser teeth whitening straight after having my brace removed, but I found the treatment very painful and it made my teeth super sensitive for days. I know so many friends who go all over the place to improve their teeth (I had one friend who went to somewhere like this cosmetic dentist San Diego, but again it’s all just too far for me). But since all my friends are improving their smiles, I thought I would do the same, but instead of laser treatment I’ve been trying the the Nano Intensive Teeth Whitening Kit from Whitewash Laboratories.
The Nano Intensive Teeth Whitening Kit has been designed by UK dentists to help you achieve a healthy white smile clinically proven to be safe and effective, and on average promises to whiten teeth by 3.6 shades after just one application. The kit itself is a dual whitening system, which combines whitening strips with a whitening gel that goes inside a bite mould. I was so intrigued to use the whitening strips as I’ve never seen, or used anything like them before and the whitening gel – wow – it looks like holographic toothpaste!
The whole process is very simple. You simply clean your teeth, apply the whitening strips for 60 minutes followed by wearing the bite mound with the whitening gel for another 35 minutes. It says to do this daily until you’ve ran out of whitening gel and strips, I have quite sensitive teeth because – long story short – I’ve worn away the majority of my gums, so I did this every other day usually when I was in the bath.
The strips are very easy to apply, the longer one is for the top teeth and the shorter one is for the bottom, and you just peel off the plastic backing and stick. At first I found it really hard to keep my mouth dry and to stop myself from running my tongue along the strips, but you get use to it the more you wear them. They’re really easy to remove but I found sometimes that excess gel would stick to my teeth, so I just rinsed my mouth out or removed it with my fingers – it comes away really easily.
The bite mould is designed to fit to your teeth like a glove – there’s instructions on how to do this in the box, again it’s super easy. I placed a thin line of whitening gel in my bite mould, I don’t think you need a lot as a little goes a long way. Now when I first used this and placed it in my mouth it tingled, so set my gums off. I wasn’t painful, but it was a little unpleasant, however, it only lasted for a few brief seconds and then nothing, and it didn’t happen again while completing the course. Wearing the mould I think was my favourite part of the process because, not only does the whitening gel taste amazing – expect a minty fresh taste sensation – but I feel like I got a sense that it was actually working. I do have to warn you that this part will make you salivate more, which is another reason I did it in the bath, but you’re not drooling everywhere, I just made a conscious effort to swallow more.
In addition to the Nano Intensive Teeth Whitening Kit I’ve also being using samples of the Nano Whitening Toothpaste and Nano Whitening Mouthwash inbetween whitening sessions. Since I have hardly any gums rinsing my mouth out with mouthwash can actually be a painful process, especially if it’s Listerine. I found the Nano Mouthwash to be pain-free, leaving my breathe with a subtle minty fragrance. I love this toothpaste, I find standard high street toothpastes that claim to whiten your teeth, just actually foam in your mouth and that’s about it. I found the Nano Whitening Toothpaste to have tiny beads in, which promise to polish your teeth removing stains and dirt without stripping your enamel. Not only do I think this helped with whitening my teeth, but this combination really helped to settle my sensitive gums.
Overall, I feel like I did see a difference in my smile. After one or two applications I especially noticed my front teeth looked a lot whiter and brighter. I really enjoyed using these products, I think they’re easy to use and more importantly aren’t painful. Since my sister has recently had her brace removed and my boyfriend is desperately wanting to improve his smile, I’m actually going to get the both of them this kit for Christmas. I would totally recommend this product from Whitewash Laboratories to people who want to brighten and whiten their smile without spending a fortune and without any pain or discomfort.
Have you ever tried laser teeth whitening before? Have you had a brace? Have you always wanted to improve your smile?
