Imagine being given £2,000 every day to spend how you wish. Do you think you could spend the lot without going into your overdraft? £2,000 is ALOT of money and I’m sure if you shopped savvy you could buy so many things with it and even have some left over. Well imagine if those pounds were actually calories and everyday to had to stick to your calorie budget, do you think you could do it? This maths is the basics behind Shop And You Drop; a new and exciting diet concept.
After years of yo-yo dieting author, Jeni Banks, has wrote a book on a fun way to lose weight and save money in the process. It’s a win-win right? Now I’ve done my fair share of diets, cleanses and detoxes, and I personally wouldn’t say this is a diet; I think Shop And You Drop is more of a lifestyle change. Jeni has created a simple way of achieving weight loss without doing anything extreme or something that can’t be sustained.
Basically you need to look at calories as cash and everyday you have to stick to your budget. Whether you want to spend £2,000 everyday and maintain your weight, or spend less to save money and drop some pounds in the process. Sounds simple right? That’s because it is, however, Jeni explains it so much better and goes into depth about every single aspect you might come up against.
This book completely changes your outlook on calories and food intake (well it did mine anyway). The whole concept starts with your bank body manager – this is the person who gives you your £2,000 everyday – and goes on to tell you how you convert calories into cash, about hidden charges you may come across and how to tell a high street ingredient from a designer one. Jeni even tells you how to eat out for cheap, how to actually earn money and how you can even go on shopping sprees and have a little splurge without gaining weight.
I don’t want to ruin this book for you all because it really is worth the read, and during my ‘shopping’ experience I managed to lose six pounds before going to Ibiza. Jeni has managed to take an issue that the majority of us can relate to and create a solution that not only makes so much sense, but is actually easy to incorporate into my everyday routine, can be sustained and I can see results from it. The best part? Now if I eat something naughty I don’t feel guilty afterwards because all my finances are in order. Feeling guilty after eating something bad for me was something I really struggled with, and I can’t believe this book has managed to change that.
I think for those who are sick of diets, or have tried everything and received no long-lasting results, this book is exactly what you need. It will completely shake up your thoughts on food, what you choose to eat and how you actually want to spend your calories. So if you love food and shopping, then Shop And You Drop could be the solution you’re looking for.
What diets have you tried? Are you wanting to lose a little weight?
