I believe that your gym clothes play a huge part in your gym experience. There’s nothing worse than wearing a ill-fitted sports bra that doesn’t keep the girls under control, leggings that constantly fall down or when the band at the top of your high-waisted leggings enhances your muffin top and, let’s not forget to mention, the dreaded you-can-see-absolutely-everything when doing a squat. Whether you buy your gym outfit from a bodybuilding clothing brand or from your local high street store, as long as you feel comfortable in it and you think it will allow you to work out productively, you are more than ready to hit the gym. I go to the gym to feel better about myself, which is why I always make sure I feel amazing in my gym wear. You can feel even more amazing on your way to and from the gym with Custom Printed Drawstring Bags, a convenient way to carry the things you need for your workout, whilst sporting whichever stylish design you choose.
Recently the lines between fitness and fashion have blurred together. I feel like now, not only is it more acceptable to walk around in my gym gear all day, but the quality of gymwear on the highstreet is much more superior than what it use to be. Since changing up my gym routine two years ago to include a mix of cardio and weights, I feel like my gym wear has to be as ready for my workout as I am.
Key pieces I have to invest in are leggings and sports bras, for the types of outworks I do, these items are essential. Recently, these black wrap leggings from the new Katie Bulmer-Cooke AIM Athleisure range have quickly become my favourite pair. To finish off my gym outfit, I decided to add a pair of my favourite gym shoes. In this case, they are both comfortable and quite stylish, but the most important factor to consider when it comes to shoes if the comfort. If you are not comfortable wearing them for five minutes, you are not going to last in the gym or even going for a run. This is where alternatives like Vessi shoes come in handy. Make sure you do your research into shoes like these, so you can finally find comfort while working out.
Usually I’m picky with high-waisted leggings because I find they tend to push my fat up and enhance the roll around my tummy, but not this pair. I feel like these are so flattering, so much so, that I’d happily wear them with just my sports bra. When I’m running they don’t fall down, when I’m doing yoga they stretch with my body and most importantly, they don’t flash my underwear (and more) when I’m squatting. Plus, have you seen my initials down the leg – cute touch right? And totally free at AIM Athleisure.
For those of you who don’t know Katie Bulmer-Cooke, she’s a well-experienced fitness expert, and when I heard she had launched her own range of gym wear with AIM Athleisure, I knew I had to check it out. AIM Athleisure is an activewear brand that’s designed and produced on Osborne Road, Jesmond, and use only high-quality fabrics that sculpt to your body so that you get everything you need and more from your workout.
I hand-on-heart love the quality, fit and performance of these leggings, and would recommend them 100%. If you’re an avid gym goer and are seeking some new gym gear, then please enjoy 10% off* using ‘PSJ10’ at www.katiebulmer.com
What are your thoughts on gym wear? Are you as picky as me? Have you ever had any gym wear that’s let you down? Do you have a favourite piece? Have you tried the Katie Bulmer-Cooke range?

*I just want to let my readers know that I purchased these leggings myself. I don’t receive anything from the discount code if used, I just really like this range and want to promote and support local businesses. I’ll be using the code myself to purchase the sports bra, as well as the joggers and wrap tee.
