Whenever I need to know what’s hot and not when it comes to highlighters, I go to my friend, Abi. She’s a magpie for all things shiny and her ever-growing palette collection proves she’s got the midas touch. So, as soon as she told me about the Sleek MakeUp Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting Palette, I had to have it.
Made up of two velvety powders (Sphinx and Goddess) and two luxurious creams (Delta and Dynasty), this palette is a versatile face and body set with both metallic warm and cool tones. On first appearance it’s one of those palettes that looks too pretty to touch, but after gawking at it for some time I finally dipped my brush in these molton shades.
You can see from the swatches that both the powders and creams are highly pigmented. When it comes to highlighting, I personally don’t like my highlight to just sit on my skin in two prominent lines. I love my highlight to look glowy, but fluid, so it looks natural. If you prefer this look too, then this palette is right up your street, as the shades are very blendable, especially the powders.
One thing I love about this palette is that it’s two looks in one. There’s two warm tones (Sphinx and Dynasty), as well as two cool tones (Delta and Goddess). So depending on what look you want to create, there’s both a cream and powder to suit. I differ between the two, I usually go for a cooler tone during the day and then a warmer tone if I’m going out on the evening. I’m not sure why I do it this way, I just do.
The palette also comes with a small brush, however, I use my Morphe Fan Brush or my Real Techinques Contour Brush, as I feel this blends the product better. I guess it’s just down to preference really! This is probably the best highlighter I’ve tried so far and it’s definitely my go-to when I need a little shimmer in my life.
Have you tried this palette before? Do you prefer warm or cool tones?
