Once a week I like to take some time to indulge in some serious skincare. Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, prime, prep, moisturise – y’know the whole shc-bang. Lately, I’ve introduced a new product to my routine and today I want to tell you about Drops Of Youth Liquid Peel that I picked up from The Body Shop, in Sunderland.
I’m an avid user of The Body Shop and have tried and tested many of its ranges, including Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Drops Of Youth. I especially love Drops Of Youth because it’s anti-aging (at the moment I’m obsessed with preventing any lines) and helps to improve the look of your skin ensuring it looks healthy and glowing.
The Liquid Peel is the latest product to join the range, and at first I thought it was a cleanser, but I was a little surprised to find it was actually an exfoliator. I mean, how on earth does a liquid exfoliate your face? These were my first thoughts, and honestly you’ve got to see it to believe it. It’s one of those products that you can actually see working right before your eyes.
The Liquid Peel is set to exfoliate and gently peel off the impurities from your skin, lifting dead skin cells and residuals. Although it’s called Liquid Peel it’s more of a gel-like substance that’s quite thick in consistency.
After washing my face, I then apply this gel by rubbing it into my skin. When I first used this I was gob-smacked and a little disgusted to see the amount of dead skin that peeled from my face. I could actually feel (and see) the dead layer of skin balling up onto the surface of my skin, and the more I rubbed the more rubbish came away.
Once I removed the dirt from my face my skin felt squeaky clean. It felt fresh, smooth, but also a little tight, like it was brand new skin. I’ve been using this once to twice a week for just over a month now, and since using it my skin has never looked fresher or more luminous.
In the years I’ve been exfoliating my face I have never seen results like this before. If you suffer with dry skin or just like to have a deep cleanse every week, I would highly recommend this product. I promise you’ll be surprised by the results.
Have you used the Liquid Peel before? Have you used anything else from the Drops Of Youth collection? What’s your favourite range from The Body Shop?
