It’s a new year and the only thing I’m changing about myself is the amount of make-up I have. Looking back on 2016 I realised there were loads of make-up brands I didn’t get to try, and I’m not making the same mistake this year. So, my beauty goal this year is to try and test products from the following brands…
As you know I’ve been on the search for the ultimate foundation and everyone, like seriously everyone, I have spoken to loves Estee Lauder’s Double Wear. I tried a small sample of it about five years ago and thought nothing of it because I didn’t know the art of blending.
Now, I’m so eager to get my hands on this I can’t wait for payday to arrive. Another reason this brand caught my attention was because Kendall Jenner became the face of Estee Lauder, and well, who wouldn’t want to look like Kendall Jenner?
Seriously though, I always thought Estee Lauder was for the older generation and I guess having a younger representative made me question that. Is there anything you would recommend other than the foundation?
Kat Von D
I’m gutted I didn’t pick any of her products up while I was in Miami, as I’ve heard her contour palette is the holy grail. I bought the foundation, primer and eyeliner for my friend for her birthday and it was definitely one of those times where you kinda want to keep them for a gift for yourself. But no I was a good friend, and after hearing her thoughts on them it’s only made me more eager to get my hands on them. So, thank the lord that Debenhams sell it!
Again, I see so many people raving about the quality of Illamasqua that I just need it in my life. However, this will be my second time using the brand. A few years ago I purchased the ‘foundation of the moment,’ Skin Base and it just looked awful on me.
After trying it two times I binned the foundation and now I regret it so much. I don’t think it was the product at all, again, it was down to my lack of blending skills. I feel like now I could totally buff this into my skin and I could kick myself for throwing it away, I mean who even does that?!
Okay, I hold up my hands – I haven’t tried the Better Than Sex mascara or anything else from Too Faced. It’s one of the those brands I always overlooked, but lately it’s really perked my interest. I definitely want to try the mascara and the melted lipsticks – they actually look good enough to eat. I’ve also heard great things about its palettes for face and eyes. Hit me with any recommendations!
I’ve never really been interested in this beauty brand before, but lately all I can think about is it’s luxurious products in their sleek and minimalistic packaging. I totally blame Jules and her Instagram stories over Christmas! Although I’m itching to visit the counter in the Metro Centre, I’m doing my best to save all my Boots points so I can get a massive haul and not feel guilty about it!
Are there any brands you really want to try, but for some reason you haven’t yet? Are there any products from the brands I’ve mentioned that you would recommend?
