When the sun is shining you have to make the most of it don’t you? With this in mind I headed to Barnes Park, in Sunderland, to snap a couple of new pieces that I got for my birthday along with some golden oldies.

I’m not one for expensive shoes or designer clothes, but when it comes to bags my eyes are bigger than my bank balance. The latest addition to my (ever growing) collection is this hard leather, grey Michael Kors bag, which was a birthday present from my boyfriend.

To be honest I kind of already knew about the bag, as I spotted the carrier when he came back from New York. It was still such a lovely surprise that I wasn’t expecting. I know, what a little babe he is!

Another newbie to my wardrobe is this River Island blouse. One thing I never have enough of is tops, and although I love the choker top detail I went against my better judgment and got it in white. I love black (who doesn’t?) and I really wish I got it in this colour because after looking at these photos I’m not sure I actually suit it?

This is my problem. I ALWAYS think I don’t suit anything and in a bid to try and get over this matter I threw on a hat. I never wear hats, but I just loved the colour and shape of this one and so I thought, ‘what the hell!’

I can’t believe how cold it’s gotten. Only a few weeks ago I was wearing my mac coat and now I’m wrapping up in my leather jacket with faux fur collar. I don’t think it’s quite hat and scarf weather yet, but it won’t be long!

Of course, no A/W outfit is complete without my favourite jeans and ankle boots. I love these boots. They’re from Public Desire and were an absolute steal at £9.99. They’ll probably only last one winter, but who cares at that price. I’m actually looking for some knee high boots, so if you have any recommendations please send them my way!

What pieces are you loving this winter? Any new purchases you can’t wait to wear? Are there any trends you’re loving this season?

I think you look beautiful in the hat, it really suits you! I have a wardrobe full of them and I love them but I barely ever put one, it never seems like the right time!

I know what you mean, I felt a little odd wearing it, but I’m glad I did as I love the colour. You should wear yours – you really suit hats! xx
