For the last few months I’ve been a little more cautious when it comes to skincare and make-up products. In fact, I’ve been trying my best to go cruelty free (but that’s a whole other post) and you know what, it’s actually quite hard, and then I stumbled across Flourish.
Flourish was founded by a North East-based make-up artist, and is an online shopping destination for products that are kinder to your skin, your health and the environment. It’s dedicated to green beauty and only stocks products that are not tested on animals, made from natural ingredients and come from sustainable sources, all wrapped in packaging that’s made from recycled material, which is biodegradable.
After browsing the website, I loved the look of its products, but instead of ordering one or two full-sized products I ordered the Best of British Beauty Box for £30 (worth £75). There’s free delivery on all UK orders and since it was my first order, I signed up to Flourish’s newsletter and received 10 per cent off – always a plus!
When my beauty box arrived I was surprised to find that not only did it include eight deluxe samples, but also four mini samples. I thought for the price, what I received was money well spent. Here’s what was in the box and my thoughts on them…
Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt, 30ml
Since introducing a cleanser into my skincare routine it has made a lot of difference, and this one has been no different. It’s slightly a thicker consistency to what I’ve been using, but I find it’s better at removing make-up, especially mascara. Plus, when rubbing it into my skin it has a warming sensation to it, which helps to dissolve any make-up, so that it practically melts off my face.
Evolve Radiant Glow Mask, 20ml
I LOVE this mask. It smells of chocolate and honestly the scent is so good I just wanted to eat it. A little goes a long way, and after leaving it on for 5 – 10 minutes it leaves my skin feeling soft with a gorgeous glow.
de Mamiel Salvation Body Oil, 30ml
I’m not surprised this body oil is award-winning, as it smells amazing and has made my skin feel silky soft and supple. I’ve only used half of the bottle and I’ve already recommended to friends and have it on my shopping list when payday comes around.
LIHA Shea Butter, 15ml
This is another body product I absolutely loved and that I will be repurchasing. Although it says butter, to me it wasn’t creamy it was more like a putty. It was very thick in consistency, but as soon as I rubbed it into my skin it melted like an oil. There wasn’t much of a scent, which I don’t mind, but my skin felt so smooth. Plus, this butter is suppose to prevent signs of premature aging – win!
The Natural Deodorant Co, Deodorant Balm, 15ml
Do you know how hard it is to find a cruelty free deodorant? It’s probably the hardest product to find, so this was especially helpful. Although I’m not use to wiping a deodorant balm under my arms, once on, it felt and acted like normal deodorant. It had a lemon scent to it too, which I absolutely loved.
Tabitha, Organic Hair Cleanser and 4-in-1 Conditioner, 60ml
When I washed my hair with these products my hair felt dry and crisp, and to be honest I didn’t like the feeling at all. However, when I blow dried my hair it felt light, voluminous and soft. It felt strange during the washing process, but the results are amazing.
Skin & Tonic, Brit Beauty Oil, 10ml
I’ve never tried a beauty oil before, as I’ve always used serums, but this one is kind of similar. I’ve been using it for around two weeks now, applying three drops every night and my skin is glowing. I would recommend only using a few drops, as a little goes a long way and too much can lead to breakouts.
This is hand-on-heart the best beauty box I’ve ever bought. I’ve loved all the products and for the price the size of the products I received were impressive. I can’t wait to order some of these products in full size when payday comes around.
Have you tried the British Beauty Box before? Have you ordered anything from Flourish? What do you think about going cruelty free?
