My Favourite Budget Highlighter

While everyone was trying out strobing I was sat with my contour palette, sucking in my cheeks and trying my best to achieve those perfectly chiseled features. Of course, now that the hype has died down I’ve suddenly become obsessed with highlighters and all things shiny, and at the moment this is my absolute favourite…

The MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder from Superdrug in Iridescent Gold. It’s not really a gold shimmer, I would definitely say it’s a mix between silver and white, which I think is perfect for highlighting. And you certainly can’t complain about the price. For a mere £3 you receive a pretty average-sized pan and the product itself is very good quality.

Now there’s a vast selection of highlighters to choose from in Superdrug, but I was drawn to this one because it reminded me of the Laura Mercier Face Illuminators. I honestly think this product might be a dupe because the pans look so similar, don’t you think?

When I first saw the Laura Mercier highlighters I was itching to get one, however, I just couldn’t justify paying £32 when I can pick up a great-quality one for only £3, and it delivers every time.

With just one swipe you can see how pigmented the powder is. It really surprised me at first just how highly pigmented it is and how little effort you have put in to get it. With my Morphe fan brush I gently dust the powder over my cheekbones and cupids bow, and I find it gives my skin that soft glow, which is perfect for during the day.

I use this highlighter for when I’m hitting the town, however, if you love a proper in-your-face glow when you’re out, then I would probably suggest either applying a lot of this powder or finding a one that’s more suitable.

Although my title says budget I’ve actually never tried any high-end highlighters before. Perhaps it’s because drugstore ones deliver that perfect golden glow every time and they don’t upset my bank balance.

If you don’t want to splash the cash I would really recommend you give this MUA one a go, however, if you’re loving a high-end highlighter please let me know as I’m eager to give one a go.
