If you’re an avid reader of Plain Sarah Jayne, then you’ll know I’ve been searching for the perfect cleansing products for sometime now, and I’m talking years. I’ve tried a number of both high-end and drugstore brands, and I think I’ve finally found the solution at The Body Shop.
Now, I never really understood the hype surrounding The Body Shop. At the time I honestly thought they were just overpriced products that smelt really nice, but as per usual I was wrong.
I’ve been using bits and bobs like the Eye Cube and Drops of Youth Serum for months now and then I purchased some Vitamin C cleansers, and with this mixture my skin has never looked better. So, I took the plunge and purchased the Vitamin E cleanser, toner, moisturiser and night serum.
I can honestly say it’s been the best skincare purchase I’ve bought and it didn’t cost a bomb either. For four full size products, it cost me £25 instead of £42 – thank you Dalton Park and your outlet stores!
It turns out the Vitamin E range is the best-selling range in The Body Shop and now I know why. There’s no overpowering scents or harsh chemicals, the products do exactly what they say on the packaging – simply cleanse, tone and moisturise.
I use the cleanser to remove the majority of my make-up. Without water it creates a creamy lather on my face and even removes stubborn eyeliner and mascara. I then go in with either my Vitamin C cleaner or my Vitamin C exfoliator depending on the day.
Afterwards, with a few drops and one cotton pad I swipe my entire face, including my neck, with the toner. I’ve found the toner is very refreshing and doesn’t sting my face. I’ve found a few drugstore toners that literally set my skin on fire.
On a morning I use the day cream, which is incredibly moisturising so you only need the smallest amount, and on an evening I use a few drops of the night serum. Now, for me this doesn’t sink into my skin straight away, however, by the morning my skin feels so soft and plump.
I’m so happy I’ve finally found a brand that actually works for me, in fact I even went on and bought the banana shampoo and the results have really surprised me.
I’m really eager to move onto the body lotions and other products at The Body Shop – is there anything you would recommend I try? Have you tried the Vitamin E range before?
