I find foundation the hardest beauty product to shop for, seriously it’s taken me years to put down MAC’s Matchmaster and search for something new. I mean I’ve dabbled in a little Urban Decay and I’ve tried and tested some drugstore products, but nothing has ever really stuck.

I was thinking about buying the NARS Sheer Glow, but I’ve heard so many different things about the foundation that I got very confused. Have you tried it before? Anyways after meeting the one and only Charlotte Tilbury, and hearing such wonderful things about her products I couldn’t resist buying her Magic Foundation.

This foundation basically does what it says on the bottle; it’s set to transform your skin into flawless, poreless and youthful looking skin. It’s full-coverage, which I personally love because I don’t suit natural-looking skin (I have a terrible amount of freckles!) The great thing about this foundation is you get the coverage you desire without the cakiness.

I’ve never tried a demi-matte finish foundation before and I’ve found I actually prefer this to a full matte finish. Although it’s full coverage, if you’re looking for a naturally flawless complexion, then this finish of foundation is totally for you. It’s matte where it needs to be and dewy everywhere else.

I suffer with an oily t-zone, so I worry that dewy foundations would make my face look extra oily, but I actually love how it makes my skin look glowy rather than overly dewy/oily. I don’t know whether it’s because the summer is approaching, but I’m obsessed with highlighters and glow at the moment.

It’s also incredibly long-lasting. I apply this foundation around 7am and after a full day at work followed by a PT session, it’s still in place. And that’s without powder on top too!

There’s also an application tip on the box – for a flawless finish apply with a brush and start in the centre of your face. I started doing this and I’ve noticed my foundation blends seamlessly. When I randomly place it all over my face, I notice I have a lot of brush lines. Have you tried this technique before?

On another note I love that this brand is cruelty-free. If you’re looking for a new foundation I would really recommend it to those who love a flawless, glowy finish that lasts all day.

Have you tried this foundation? Can you recommend any other foundations?

This foundation sounds amazing! I have an oily T-Zone which is my reason for avoiding most foundations but I love dewy skin so I will definitely consider this one next time I buy a high end base. Also if you like that it’s full coverage, I wouldn’t recommend Nars Sheer Glow, it’s a beautiful foundation but the coverage is light-medium :)

Thank you Gemma, see this is why I’ve been putting off NARS Sheer Glow, I’ve heard so many different things! Thanks for letting me know, I think I might get a sample and see how I feel before splashing the cash. I suffer with an oily z-tone and you wouldn’t notice it when wearing this foundation. Definitely a foundation you should consider :) xxx

Sounds brilliant! I’ve had it on my maybe list for a while now. Might have to use my Fenwick voucher on it :-) I also think your pictures are great – it’s nice to see what the foundation looks like in real life!

Aww thank you Helen, I try my best to make sure I take pictures of the products and them on my face. I would definitely recommend giving it a go. If you don’t want to spend your voucher, maybe ask for a sample to test out first? Let me know how you get on! xxx

Hi Sam, hope you’re well? The foundation is £29.50, which I think is quite reasonable considering I pay the same for MAC and this one delivers much better results. xxx

It’s so interesting reading comments as opinions differ so much! Like I don’t think Nars Sheer Glow is light to medium coverage at all :) and I tried the Magic Foundation yesterday and thought it was more matte than glowy.. haha! Trying it again today, what shade did you get Sarah? x
