When it comes to eyeshadow palettes and lip glosses you can never have too many, right? I certainly don’t think so! The latest to join my ever-growing collection is the Tanya Burr Fairytale eyeshadow palette and the ‘Chic’ lip gloss.
I never knew Tanya created eyeshadow palettes, but I was very excited when I unwrapped this beauty from my secret santa at work. I was extremely happy and grateful that someone took the time to stalk my Instagram to find out what I like. On first impressions I loved that this quad was all matte shades, although alohomora (the dark brown colour) has some subtle, shimmery undertones. I have to admit I’m not really a fan of the packaging, but I do really like these eyeshadows. They’re very high pigmented and are perfect for creating a natural, everyday look.
The black is great if you want to create a natural smoky eye for during the day or if you’d rather not wear eyeliner but still want to define your eyes. At first I wasn’t quite sure on cream tea (the white shade) however, once everything was blended together it really opened up my eyes and could even be used to highlight under my brows.
I’ve been meaning to pick up the Tanya Burr lip glosses for ages and as soon as I saw that they were reduced to £1.49 in Dalton Park I HAD to pick one up. I chose the shade Chic as a nude is always my go-to colour. I was pleasantly surprised by the brush, as it’s not a normal round brush tip, but sort of a duck-flat brush, which I think applies the gloss better to my lips.
I also LOVE the smell, this one in particular smells of strawberries, I’m not sure about the other shades but O-M-G this one smells good enough to eat. What I love about this gloss other than the smell is it’s not sticky. It simply glides onto my lips and leaves them looking shiny. It’s definitely a ‘my lips but better’ gloss.
Have you tried any of the Tanya Burr products before? What are your thoughts?
