The Olde Young Tea House, in Middlesbrough, is somewhere I’ve been dying to visit. Being from Sunderland I came across this quaint tea house from bloggers filling up my Instagram and Twitter feed with mouth-watering, home-made cakes and cute teapots filled with loose-leaf tea. Luckily for me, just as I was planning a trip to Brough I got an invite to the #OldeYoungMeetUp Tea Party.
Hosted by Carli (The Tea Bee) and Megan Jane Lillie (Thumbelina Lillie), this exclusive tea for 40 was a chance for us to see what The Olde Young Tea House is all about and to meet some new faces in the blogging world, and what a treat it was!
This picture-perfect tea house is dressed with frilly lamps, dainty bunting, and floral prints. Giant jars of loose-leaf tea don the walls and the shelves are stacked high with teacups and mix-matched saucers. Every inch of this place is totally Instagramable – honestly my photos don’t even come close to doing this gorgeous place justice.
My favourite bit of the evening was definitely being forced (not gun-to-the-head forced) to get a picture with someone we didn’t know, which I thought was brilliant – definitely one of the best ways to break the ice. Thanks to this creative idea I met some lovely ladies, who I can’t wait to see again at the next event.
During the event we got the chance to sample some home-made cupcakes (of course I went for the salted caramel one – yum!), freshly brewed Sleeping Beauty green tea, and some fruity punch. With every bite and sip I got more and more excited because I’m visiting again this Sunday, and I can’t wait for a giant wedge of cake – (my mouth’s watering now just thinking about it!)
I can’t wait for the next event! Who’s paid a visit to The Olde Young Tea House?
