I’ve been to ‘intimate’ blogger events, but The Botanist’s Tipples and Tunes has to be on the top of that list. Rather than being full to the brim with people, like previous events, when I arrived I was whisked away to a table of four with fellow bloggers Eve, Pixie and Rachel, for an intimate dining experience.

Once we realised we were the party, we hugged, laughed and took our seats. We knew we had been invited to try some of The Botanist’s new cocktails and a few nibbles, but I don’t think anyone expected what was placed in front of us.

A feast of food, which included warm gooey camembert, salt and pepper pork scratchings served with a sticky chutney dip, a giant prawn cocktail, a goats cheese and tomato quiche, hot sardines in a retro tin, deep-fried onion pieces with a cool, creamy sauce and slices of fresh bread to top it all off.

To wash these dishes down, we got four new cocktails to try; Apricot and Ginger Sling, Watermelon and Sage Sling, Passion Fruit and Basil Crush and The Botanist Pornstar, which came with a shot of Prosecco.

Before digging into the food, we had to decide which cocktail we wanted. After taking sips from each I took the Apricot and Ginger Sling. It was so fruity and refreshing, it definitely makes for a delicious summer drink.

I know the selection of food are new dishes to the menu, but I loved the tapas theme we had going on – I prefer having nibbles of different foods, rather than ordering a huge meal.

Every single dish was bursting with favour and its safe to say the food didn’t stick around for long. I’d definitely recommend trying the salt and pepper pork scratchings, the gooey camembert and the deep-fried onion pieces.

The icing on the cake was the lovely lady who was singing throughout the evening. Honestly, we all loved her, she created such a relaxing atmosphere with her stunning vocals. She has a Ellie Goulding/Gabrielle Aplin sort of voice – she’s definitely worth going to see!

I know The Botanist are hosting more Tipples and Tunes in weeks to come, please let me know if you get invited and what your thoughts are!

Oooooooh thanks for the sneaky peak .. I’m going on Thursday :) After hunting high and low I’ve discovered two of the fellow bloggers I’ll be spending the evening with but got no idea who the fourth might be!

I actually went up to the Roof Bar on Saturday and ordered the Passion Fruit and Basil Crush – I thought it was a new one!

Well I had no idea it was only four bloggers, I thought it was a big event! Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn’t go to the roof bar, but definitely try out the ginger and apricot sling, it’s soooo tasty! xx
